Varahi, along with the other Sapta Matrikas, helped Goddess Durga during her battle against the demons, Shumbha and Nishumbha. It has been speculated that Vishnu’s Varaha and Narasimha avatars have a tribal connection. They also offered blood sacrifices to them.
